Shenandoah Valley Governor’s School is in the process of reviving our EV team to its former glory. We believe that it is an excellent activity for any student to participate in, as it builds crucial skills in these students that are valuable in a plethora of careers that these students will seek after high school or college. The SVGS EV team creates hard workers, future engineers, and powerful leaders that result from the months of teamwork poured into restoring and building these cars. For these reasons we believe that it would be well beyond worth it to restore not only this club, but more like it across the nation as well to foster a new generation of engineers and leaders that will drive the future of the world toward a prosperous one.

Frequently Asked Questions
How important is safety to your organization?
This is our number one priority! We take all safety measures to prevent accident and injury. We are in the process of developing a course to get all members prepared to get hands-on in the cars.
How often are meetings? And would I have to commit after the meeting?
We meet once or twice a week in the SVGS engineering room. Typically, we meet Wednesday evenings at 5 inside and work outside on Thursdays around 4:30. Meetings last about two hours, but there’s no pressure on staying the entire time. Anyone interested is more than welcome to attend as their schedule permits, commitment needs cause, and the interest grows over time!
Can I expect to see where the car goes throughout the season?
Certainly! We plan to post updates in our galleries and through our blog posts! We’re excited to invite our growing community to watch us work on these projects and watch them come together in real time with us!
Are there going to be competitions we can follow you to?
We certainly hope so! If not now, in the near future we plan to begin running the Porsche and Datsun in races again. We hope to grow both in the valley and outside the valley, and share our work with a community full of likeminded engineers and spectators.
